Dr. Martin Brokenleg will present the “Circle of Courage,” a model of youth empowerment supported by contemporary research, the heritage of early youth work pioneers and Native philosophies of child care. The core values of belonging, mastery, independence and generosity - creating an environment that can claim and reclaim all youth, will be presented.
As Dean of the Circle of Courage Institute, Dr. Brokenleg consults worldwide and provides training for individuals who work with at-risk youth. He holds a doctorate in psychology and is a graduate of the Episcopal Divinity School. Dr. Brokenleg has consulted and led training programs throughout North America, New Zealand and South Africa.
